About us

How long have you been around?

Abel Espinoza started painting professionally at 18 and has been in the trade since 2009. He founded Red Barn Painting and personally handled every project — from estimates to repairs to painting — before building a full team of painters and project managers.

Are you fully insured?

Yes. Red Barn Painting carries general liability and workers' compensation insurance for both residential and commercial work. Certificates of insurance are available on request.

How many painters will be at my home?

Crews are typically 2 to 5 painters, depending on the size and complexity of your project. That keeps the work efficient without sacrificing attention to detail.

What hours do your crews work?

Crews typically work 8:30 am to 5:30 pm, and plan each day to reach a clean stopping point before they leave. We're available on Saturdays and closed on Sundays.

Estimates & pricing

Are estimates really free?

Absolutely. Estimates are free, no-obligation, and remain valid for up to one year — so you have plenty of time to decide.

How do you price a project?

We look at the size of the area, the surfaces, the prep required, the number of coats and the products used. You get a clear, detailed quote that covers everything — no surprises.

When and how do I pay?

A 50% deposit secures your spot on the schedule, and the balance is due when the job is complete and you're happy. You can pay by credit card through our emailed invoice, over the phone, or by check.

Do you have any specials?

Yes — mention code SAVE10 for 10% off projects of $500 or more when you book within a week of your estimate, and earn a $100 Amazon gift card for referring a friend. See our Specials page for details.

Your project

How soon can you start?

We can usually begin within a week of your estimate being approved. Need it sooner? Let us know and we'll do our best.

How long will my project take?

It depends on the size of the space, the type of work and the prep needed. We never rush or cut corners, and we'll give you a realistic timeline with your estimate.

Can you help me choose colors?

Yes! We offer color consultation during your estimate or while planning your project, and can point you to the Sherwin-Williams and Benjamin Moore online visualizers to try colors on your own photos.

Can you use paint I already bought?

Yes. Let us know and we'll adjust the estimate. We'll just confirm the product is right for the surface.

Do I need to empty the rooms?

Please remove breakables, decor, pictures and small items. We'll move and cover larger furniture and protect your floors.

How will my belongings be protected?

We cover furniture and floors with drop cloths and plastic, and mask off everything that isn't being painted — inside and out.

Can I leave home while you work?

Of course. We just need access to the work areas. Many clients go about their day as usual.

What if I want to change something mid-project?

No problem — talk with your project manager and they'll adjust the scope, timeline and price with you before making changes.

Do you work weekends?

We work Saturdays to accommodate busy schedules. We're closed Sundays.

Paint & warranty

What paint do you use?

Premium products from Sherwin-Williams and Benjamin Moore (and Behr where it makes sense), matched to each surface — durable exterior coatings, scrubbable interior finishes and low-VOC options.

What is VOC?

VOC stands for volatile organic compounds — chemicals in some paints that release fumes as they dry. We offer low-VOC and zero-VOC paints for better indoor air quality and a faster return to normal life.

Do you offer a warranty?

Yes. Interior work carries a 3-year limited warranty and exterior work a 2-year limited warranty, covering labor and materials. See our Warranty page for full details.

What if I'm not satisfied?

Tell us. Your satisfaction is guaranteed — if something isn't right, we'll make it right.

How do I care for my new paint?

Wait two weeks for paint to cure before washing. For interiors, a soft cloth and mild soapy water handles most marks. For exteriors, an annual gentle wash keeps paint fresh. Our Painting Tips page has more.
